This is an entry level position. This position is responsible for performing routine manual work usually of a repetitive nature for Capital Region Water's Wastewater Department. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Operations Supervisor, or other Wastewater Department managers.
Work is performed at the Advanced Wastewater Treatment Facility and at various locations throughout the service area. Work involves the use of brooms, mops, rakes, shovels, hammers, saws, picks, sledgehammers, lawn mowers, tamper, portable mixers, jackhammer, hand roller, trash pumps, chain saw, trimmers, and the occasional use of small power-operated hand tools, 12 ft.- 25 ft. ladders, paint and paint stripper, motor vehicles such as sedans, pick-ups, station wagons, and occasionally one-ton dump truck.
Employees are subject to noise and vibration, fumes, odors, toxic conditions, dust, poor ventilation, and inclement weather. Duties typically are performed weekdays from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., however, employee may work nights, weekends, emergencies and holidays as required.
