Job summary

Omre is seeking an Operations Manager to own inventory, supply chain and operational efficiency across DTC, Amazon, and retail partners. You will forecast demand, manage purchasing with US/China manufacturers, and monitor packaging and finished goods to keep stock in the right place at the right time.

You will collaborate with Marketing and Finance to improve gross margin, control costs and implement robust processes, dashboards and AI-enabled forecasting as the business scales.

Qualifications

  • Strong operations, supply chain or inventory experience within eCommerce, DTC or consumer products.
  • Experience managing manufacturers, suppliers and purchase orders; strong demand-planning and forecasting skills.
  • Experience managing inventory across multiple channels and locations; strong analytical and spreadsheet skills.
  • Commercial understanding of COGS, gross margin and working capital; confident negotiating with suppliers and identifying cost savings.
  • Excellent organisation, attention to detail and follow-through; extremely reliable and diligent.
  • You notice when numbers do not look right.
  • You chase things before deadlines slip.
  • You would rather spend another five minutes checking something than discover five weeks later that an avoidable mistake was made.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory & Forecasting
  • You will own inventory planning across DTC, Amazon, retail and our warehouse network.
  • Maintain accurate SKU-level inventory visibility across all channels.
  • Forecast demand, inventory cover and reorder requirements.
  • Incorporate retail orders, marketing activity, seasonality and changes in sales velocity into forecasts.
  • Identify potential stock-outs and excess inventory well in advance.
  • Use AI and analytical tools to improve forecasting and scenario modelling.
  • At any point, you should know what stock we have, where it is, how quickly it is selling and when we need to reorder.
  • Manufacturing & Purchasing
  • You will manage purchasing and production with our manufacturers and suppliers in the US and China.
  • Create and manage purchase orders and production schedules.
  • Monitor production, freight and delivery timelines.
  • Proactively chase suppliers and identify delays before they become problems.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms and volume discounts.
  • Ensure quantities, pricing and specifications are checked carefully before orders are confirmed.
  • Sending an email is not the same as completing a task. You follow up, verify and close the loop.
  • Packaging & Supply Chain
  • You will ensure packaging and other components are planned alongside finished-goods inventory.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels, coordinate packaging with manufacturing schedules and make sure production is never delayed because a component was overlooked.
  • Marketing & Retail Alignment
  • You will work closely with Marketing, eCommerce and our retail team to understand changes that may affect demand. This includes:
  • Changes in advertising spend or sales velocity.
  • Promotions and product launches.
  • New retail partners and purchase orders.
  • Amazon performance and seasonality.
  • If a SKU suddenly begins selling faster, you should spot it quickly, understand the inventory implications and update the plan before it becomes a stock problem.
  • COGS & Operational Efficiency
  • You will work closely with Finance to understand the operational costs behind each SKU and continuously look for opportunities to improve them.
  • Monitor areas including manufacturing, packaging, freight, duties, warehousing and fulfilment.
  • Regularly review costs with Finance.
  • Negotiate with manufacturers, suppliers and logistics partners.
  • Identify unnecessary spend and inefficient processes.
  • Find opportunities to improve freight, packaging, production and fulfilment costs.
  • Track cost-saving initiatives through to measurable results.
  • You should have a relentless focus on sensible savings without compromising quality or reliability. A $0.05 saving matters when multiplied across hundreds of thousands of units.
  • Operational Systems
  • As the business scales, you will make our operations increasingly robust.
  • You will build clear processes, reporting, dashboards and checklists; automate repetitive tasks where appropriate; and use AI and software to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • You should naturally ask:
  • What could go wrong, and how do I prevent it?
  • Is there a better or more efficient way of doing this?
