Job summary

Interfor is offering an Operations Intern position in Molalla, Oregon. This on-site internship starts in May for a 4–8 month term.

You will work alongside experienced professionals, gain practical skills, and participate in projects focused on process improvement, efficiency, and production performance. You will bring a relevant degree track (Wood Products Processing, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or Supply Chain) and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree or diploma in one of the related programs.
  • Able to use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Commitment to safe work practices and learning orientated.

Responsibilities

  • Gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and learn how a modern sawmill operates.
  • Explore production processes and how teams collaborate to safely produce quality wood products.
  • Contribute to projects focused on process improvement, operational efficiency, and production performance.
  • Analyze data and observations to identify opportunities for improvement across mill operations.
  • Work with experienced operations professionals to build leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

What You Bring

  • You are working toward a degree or diploma in Wood Products Processing, Business, Operations Management, Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical), Supply Chain, or another industry-related program.
  • You are committed tomaintaininga safe work environment without compromise.
  • You are curious, hands-on, and interested in learning how a manufacturing operation works.
  • You communicate clearly and enjoy working with employees across different teams and departments.
  • You are comfortable reviewing information, asking questions, and helping solve problems.
  • You are comfortable using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
