Job summary

Cagayan State University in Dodge City, KS is seeking a student for a hands-on operator role to support daily plant operations, monitor equipment, and record data to ensure safe plant performance.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a degree/certificate program related to Instrumentation and Controls, Industrial Technology, Chemical Engineering, Process Technology, or Operations Management.
• Eligible for full-time employment by May 2028.
• Capable of outdoor work, bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, confined space entry, and shift work.
• Manufacturing or military experience is a plus.

• Perform operational rounds, monitor process conditions, and record data to ensure safe and reliable plant performance.
• Collaborate with operators, maintenance teams, reliability engineers, and process engineers to identify issues, support troubleshooting, and improve equipment reliability.
• Follow safety, environmental, and operating procedures while gaining hands‑on experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Work on projects and tasks representative of those performed by full‑time operators.

About You

The company is looking for:

• Currently enrolled in a degree, certificate, technical, or vocational program related to Instrumentation and Controls, Industrial Technology, Chemical Engineering, Process Technology, Operations Management, or a similar field.
• Eligible for full‑time employment before or by May 2028.
• Willing and able to meet all physical requirements, including working outdoors in all weather, bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, confined space entry, and availability for shift work and emergency call outs.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting or military experience is a plus.
