Job summary

DuraMark Technologies in Saint Paul, MN seeks an experienced cell leader to drive lean execution, coach teams, and ensure on-time delivery. You will manage daily operations, coordinate schedules, and implement standard work improvements across manufacturing cells.

Responsibilities include safety, payroll coordination, kaizen participation, and reporting. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for this hands-on role.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience leading manufacturing teams in a lean environment preferred.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily leadership and coaching to the cell(s) to ensure customer demand is met
  • Reinforce lean vision and Duramark values; coach team members to be technically competent
  • Deliver to customer by creating schedules, coordinating teams, documenting issues and collecting data for problem solving
  • Ensure standard work is followed and improve it using lean tools and visual management
  • Lead site kaizen events and tier 1/ tier 2 meeting discussions; audit processes for safety, quality, and flow
  • Show up to work on time and monitor project timelines to keep on schedule
  • Create and distribute reports updating progress to stakeholders

  • Ensure the safety of your team, the quality of your processes, and manage capacity to achieve on time delivery and increase productivity (manage day-to-day operations)
  • Provide daily leadership and training to the cell(s) to ensure customer demand is met
  • Ensure their team members are supplied with material to maximize productivity of the team member/cell
  • Drive continuous improvement and enhance the team spirit through the application of lean tools.
Basic Function

  • Provide daily leadership and training to the cell(s) to ensure customer demand is met
  • Ensure their team members are supplied with material to maximize productivity of the team member/cell
  • Drive continuous improvement and enhance the team spirit through the application of lean tools.
Reporting Relationships

Reports to: GM/Operations Area Manager

Direct reports: Team members, up to 10 hourly employees.

Objective and Overview
  • Reinforce our lean vision and Duramark values
  • Provide coaching to team members to help them become technically competent
  • Take care of your team members (payroll, safety audits, tiered meetings, and recognition)
  • Deliver to your customer (create schedules, coordinate team(s), document issues and collect data for problem solving)
  • Ensure standard work is being followed and improve standard work through use of lean tools and visual management
  • Participate in the site wide continuous improvement process by being part of kaizen events that are held in your area on a regular basis
  • Lead the tier 1 meeting for cell(s), attend and report out in the tier 2 meeting with the Dir of Mfg./ Operations Area Manager
  • Audit your processes (standard work, safety and quality procedures, product routings and BOM, and material flow)
  • Show up to work on time
  • Determine the completion timeline and monitor progress to keep projects on track and on schedule
  • Communicate clear instructions to team members
  • Create and distribute reports to update the company on the team’s progress
