WesBanco Bank Inc. is seeking an Operations Fraud Specialist to review mobile, RDC, ATM and branch deposits for potential fraud and to monitor In Clearing check items. You will evaluate Zelle and external transfers and support transaction monitoring within our Digital Banking applications.

You will train teammates, help implement improved procedures, and collaborate with leaders to drive efficiency while ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • An Associate's Degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of two years banking experience, preferably in operations.
  • Ability to learn various Banking Software programs and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Review deposits (mobile, RDC, ATM, branch) for potential fraud and approve or decline accordingly.
  • Review In Clearing check items for fraud and coordinate with branch personnel and Fraud team when escalation is required.
  • Monitor Digital Banking applications for fraud, including Zelle and External Transfers.
  • Assist with training and guidance to team members in understanding and processing workloads.
  • Assist in developing and implementing operational plans, procedures, and goals to improve efficiency and automation.
  • Suggest changes to processing to leadership to enhance the process.

Job description

SUMMARY:

Responsible for reviewing mobile, remote deposit capture, ATM and branch deposits as well as In Clearing check items for potential fraud, requesting holds and approval or rejections as necessary. The Operations Fraud Specialist is also responsible to review Zelle, External Transfers, and transaction monitoring within our Digital Banking applications for suspected fraud. The Operations Fraud Specialist would also be a key resource in training, testing and implementation of process and procedure changes.

  • Assists with the process flow documentation for assigned systems and areas of responsibility and pursues areas of improvement.
  • Assists in maintaining the repository of procedures, processes, job aids and other critical information for functional areas.
  • Assists in driving the effective use of technology within functional areas.
  • Performs work within customer service level expectations and key vendor processing timelines.
  • Performs daily work as defined accurately.
  • Makes recommendations to leadership about possible changes to processing that will enhance the process.
  • Processes affidavits for fraud, including processing of provisional credits to customers' accounts and sending letters to other financial institutions to request funds.
  • Reviews deposit items through branch, mobile, RDC and ATM channels for potential fraud using Direct Link Risk Review. Approve or decline items accordingly.
  • Serves as first line fraud review of In Clearing check items using Direct Link Risk Review to mitigate fraud on incoming check files, working with branch personnel and Fraud team when escalation is required.
  • Reviews and process fraud claims received from other financial institutions.
  • Monitors Digital Banking application transactions for fraud, including but not limited to Zelle, External Transfers and Transaction Monitoring.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Banking is a highly regulated industry and you will be expected to acquire and maintain a proficiency in the Bank's policies and procedures, and adhere to all laws, rules and regulations that are applicable to your conduct and the work you will be performing.
  • You will also be expected to complete all assigned compliance training in a timely manner.
