Job summary

The Andersons, Inc. is seeking a Grain Operations Supervisor for our ethanol production facility. You will supervise a small team, monitor production data, and drive continuous improvement in grain handling and finished product loading.

This role requires strong leadership, safety training, and hands-on operational excellence. Qualified candidates have a High School diploma or GED, 5+ years of relevant experience, and HazMat certification.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in grain/production.
  • HAZMAT training or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a small team to meet production needs.
  • Train and develop subordinate performance; manage time and attendance.
  • Monitor production data and optimize efficiency across grain operations.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, logistics and other plant departments.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and area organization.

This position is responsible for assigning, monitoring, adjusting, and controlling daily activities associated with grain operations and finish product loading.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide work direction to a small team to ensure production needs are met
  • Train, guide, monitor, and assess subordinate performance. Assist in selection, motivation, development and management of performance and expectations
  • Monitor and analyze production data and take appropriate action to ensure consistent and optimal efficiency in production and inventory processes
  • Provide input and recommendations to maintenance, logistics and other plant departments that will ensure consistent and optimal production efficiency
  • Perform all activities in all areas of grain operations and loading finished product
  • Manage time and attendance for assigned team
  • Lead work area organization and continuous improvement initiatives

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • 5+ years’ relevant experience required
  • HAZMAT training/certification

Physical Requirements And Working Environment

  • Work is performed in an ethanol production facility that operates 24x7
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends during high-demand periods
  • Must be able to stand/sit for an extended period of time
  • Ability to frequently lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds
  • Must be able to climb/stoop/kneel at heights up to 180 feet
  • Works indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures
  • Working conditions could include dust, fumes, moderate noise and uneven surfaces
