Operations Engineer, Automation (Starlink Growth)

Starlink is the largest satellite constellation, providing fast, reliable internet to over 5 million users worldwide. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system, including satellites, consumer receivers, and the software that integrates everything. We are seeking top engineers and analysts to help accelerate our global growth.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automation to grow Starlink's customer base, launch new markets, and enhance customer experience.
• Develop alerts and monitoring systems for automation processes.
• Manage stakeholder requests efficiently.
• Monitor automation health and metrics, including credits issued.
• Collaborate with engineering and business teams to migrate automation to website-integrated solutions when suitable.
• Design and execute measurable, well-scoped experiments.
• Maintain high-quality documentation.
• Provide updates on automation performance and opportunities to leadership.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, or STEM field.
• At least 1 year of experience in engineering, software, data analytics, operations, or product management at a tech company.
• 1+ years of experience with Python.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, physics, or engineering.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Knowledge of database structures, query optimization, and ETL processes.
• Experience with automation tools (VBA, Python, C#, etc.).
• Experience in high-growth, fast-paced environments such as startups or consulting.
• Strong project management and self-prioritization skills.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to build relationships across disciplines and management levels.

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
• Willing to travel to customer sites, other SpaceX locations, and industry events.

Compensation and Benefits

Level I: $95,000 - $115,000/year. Level II: $110,000 - $130,000/year. Actual salary depends on experience and skills.
