Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Operations Engineer to join our team in Irving/Tempe to lead design development for logistics network optimization and equipment specifications. You will drive ergonomic, safety, and operational considerations for fulfillment center layouts.

You will develop and improve technical specifications for automated and manual material handling equipment, standardize core design principles using Lean methods, and test new technologies to optimize processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 1+ year of experience as a project engineer, process engineer, project manager, manufacturing engineer, or related occupation.
  • 1+ year of experience in leading projects with increasing scope and impact.
  • 1+ year of experience managing cross-functional projects, implementing automated equipment and/or integrated systems.
  • Experience in CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Developing performance specifications for facilities and equipment meeting unique operating requirements and safety codes.
  • Domestic travel up to 90% of time to perform role responsibilities may be required.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • 1+ year of experience in leading projects, programs or initiatives with continually increasing scope and impact.
  • 1+ year of experience in managing the lifecycle of cross-functional projects, implementing automated equipment and/or integrated systems.
  • Experience in CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of construction or project management, or 2+ years of electrical or mechanical engineering experience
  • Experience leading large-scale programs/projects

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
