Amazon is seeking an innovative Operations Engineer to root-cause and scale systemic challenges in First and Middle Mile operations across North America. You will lead projects with senior engineers, collaborate with internal and external teams, and deliver cost-effective solutions for sortation and distribution systems.

In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to develop, monitor and innovate cost-effective solutions for our sortation and distribution systems. Your projects vary across building type and Line of Business, adding a vital contribution to the end to end Ops engineering lifecycle. You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. Our team works on hundreds of projects each year. You will be challenged; you will learn; you will work on high impact, high visibility projects; you will grow. This role requires 50 - 70% regional travel and availability to work from a corporate office when not traveling. Candidates should either live near or be willing to relocate within a reasonable commuting distance of the office. Relocation assistance may be provided.

• Coordinate efforts to develop optimal solutions and processes for the sortation and transportation network through process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
• Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.
• Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
• Effective communication skills, ability to execute the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions.
• Travel Requirements : 50 - 70%

Basic Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or above in engineering or equivalent STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) field
• Experience working with material handling equipment (MHE) safety standards in accordance with OEM requirements
• Experience working with customers, technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
• Experience in capital project management involving ownership/management of engineering design projects
• Experience with design-in-safety
• Experience working directly with engineering teams

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
