Job Description: Director of Food Safety & Sanitation

Commercial Food Sanitation, LLC (CFS), an Intralox company, is seeking an experienced professional in Sanitation, Food Safety, and Quality. This role is pivotal as CFS collaborates with global food processors to ensure consistency in programs and standards.

Responsibilities:
  1. Participate actively as a member of the CFS Global Leadership Team, contributing to mission, business plans, metrics, and key results.
  2. Lead the North America Food Safety consulting and assessment team, identifying strategic opportunities for business growth, capacity planning, and resource management.
  3. Support global consulting operations to ensure consistency, effectiveness, and customer value delivery.
  4. Mentor and develop a high-performing team, focusing on talent, capacity, processes, and systems.
  5. Collaborate with Legal on contracts and NDAs.
  6. Coordinate with the Global Training Manager to provide trainers for the CFS Institute.
  7. Establish clear plans, goals, and expectations; hold team members accountable.
  8. Coach team members and conduct performance reviews.
  9. Address issues, simplify processes, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  10. Set performance standards and goals for the North American team.
  11. Develop and implement strategic account plans for key customers, fostering strong relationships with decision-makers.
  12. Enhance CFS engagement across all product categories in the region and participate in industry events, including speaking engagements.
  13. Support the development of new training and customer support offerings, including digital formats.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Business, or related field.
  • Over 10 years of leadership experience in the food industry, with a proven track record in team development, results delivery, and operational excellence. Experience in food production sectors such as bakery, meat, poultry, dairy, or produce is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, coordinate, and manage projects independently.
  • Willingness to travel 30-50%, including internationally.
  • Customer-focused mindset.
  • Passion for Hygiene/Sanitation and Food Safety.
  • Excellent training, presentation, and communication skills, capable of explaining food safety concepts to diverse audiences and interacting with microbiologists, sanitation, quality managers, engineers, and executives.
  • Self-driven with an entrepreneurial, problem-solving approach.
  • High standards, inspiring team excellence and growth.
  • Curiosity for new growth models, technologies, and offerings.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
