Job summary

Venatôre is seeking an Operations DevOps Team Lead to guide a high‑performing DevOps and Operations team responsible for security, resilience, reliability, and sustainment of critical systems hosted in OpenShift.

This full‑time role is based onsite in Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO. Candidates must have a TS/SCI clearance and be willing to obtain a CI Polygraph to support government customers.

Qualifications

• Current and active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Willingness to obtain CI Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, STEM or related field.
• 7+ years leading operations/DevOps teams.
• 5+ years implementing DoD/IC cybersecurity requirements.
• 3+ years working with cloud technologies.
• IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+).
• Experience with Agile and SAFe environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication with users and government customers.
• Knowledge of containerization, monitoring, networking, and security.
• Experience with systems administration, troubleshooting, testing, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a DevOps/Operations team across multi‑environment sustainment and support.
• Prioritize and distribute work to ensure timely issue resolution and reliability.
• Engage directly with users and government customers to communicate status and requirements.
• Perform system administration, troubleshooting, testing, and security operations.
• Maintain operational SOPs, SLAs, and system guides.
• Receive code from development teams and complete builds, hardening, and deployment automation.
• Support CI/CD workflows and security scans; enable IaC practices.
• Contribute scripting/automation to improve configuration and operations.
• Manage PKI certificates and DoD/IC cybersecurity requirements.
• Monitor performance and reliability across environments.
• Support monitoring, logging, networking, and security functions.

About the Job

Venatôre is seeking an Operations DevOps Team Lead to guide a high-performing DevOps and Operations team responsible for the security, resilience, reliability, and sustainment of critical systems hosted in OpenShift. This role combines hands‑on operations and systems administration expertise with team leadership, customer engagement, security operations, and deployment automation. The Operations DevOps Team Lead will coordinate team priorities, support users and government customers, and help ensure reliable mission outcomes across multiple environments.

This is a full‑time position based in Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO. Work must be performed onsite at the client location within a SCIF; telecommuting is not available. Candidates must possess a current and active TS/SCI security clearance and must be willing and able to obtain a CI Polygraph.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Operations

• Lead and mentor an Operations/DevOps team supporting multi‑environment system sustainment, administration, maintenance, and user support.
• Prioritize and distribute work across the team to support timely issue resolution and operational excellence.
• Collaborate directly with users and government customers to understand requirements, communicate system status, and support mission outcomes.
• Perform system administration, troubleshooting, testing, and security operations.
• Maintain and update operational documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and system guides.

DevOps & Deployment

• Receive code from development teams and complete system builds, hardening, configuration, and deployment automation.
• Support and enhance CI/CD deployment workflows and associated security scans.
• Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
• Contribute scripting and automation expertise to improve system configuration, deployment, and operational processes.

Security & Configuration Management

• Manage PKI certificates, system configurations, and operational compliance.
• Support implementation and sustainment of applicable DoD/IC cybersecurity requirements.
• Help maintain secure, reliable, and resilient systems across operational environments.

Monitoring & Performance

• Design and monitor user and system metrics to evaluate performance, reliability, and operational readiness across all environments.
• Support monitoring, logging, networking, containerization, and security functions required for effective system operations.

Required Qualifications

• Current and active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Willingness and ability to obtain a CI Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, a STEM field, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience leading teams in operations, sustainment, administration, security, or integration.
• 5+ years of experience implementing DoD/IC cybersecurity requirements.
• 3+ years of experience working with cloud technologies.
• Minimum IAT Level II certification, such as Security+.
• Experience supporting Agile and/or SAFe environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively with users and government customers.
• Knowledge of containerization, monitoring, logging, networking, and security.
• Experience with systems administration, troubleshooting, testing, and operational support.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current CI Polygraph.
• CISSP or CISM certification.
• Experience supporting geospatial system operations.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Experience with integrated software delivery and CI/CD pipelines, including GitLab and ArgoCD.
• Experience with ticketing and workflow tools such as ServiceNow and Jira.
• Familiarity with configuration and change management processes.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Ability to automate operational tasks using Python or Bash.
• Experience enhancing existing code and contributing to system architecture.
• Background in systems engineering or project management.
