Job summary

Continental Battery Systems in Easton, MD, is hiring for a Delivery Driver / Retail Sales Rep I. The role involves safely delivering products, assisting customers, and supporting on-site warehouse duties.

Schedule typically runs 8 hours between 7 AM and 6 PM, Monday through Saturday, with full-time/part-time options. Responsibilities include stocking, customer installations, and promoting products on the retail floor, by phone, or via email.

Qualifications

• Education: AA Degree or equivalent (3.0 GPA preferred).
• Driving Record: MVR with little to no safety concerns within past 3 years.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years in Driver, Warehouse, or Retail roles (or 1 year internal at Continental Battery Systems as Level 2 Driver/Handler/Rep).
• Skills: Advanced knowledge of safe driving procedures (including forklifts) and safe material handling.
• Typing: 30 WPM; proficient customer communication.

Responsibilities

• Delivery & Logistics: Safely drive and deliver products, pick up used batteries, and maintain stock for customers.
• Retail & Customer Service: Assist retail customers, perform battery installations, educate on promoted products, maintain showroom.
• Warehouse Duties: Load/offload vehicles, prepare shipments, perform inventory counts, label products, and battery reconditioning.
• Safety & Compliance: Operate pallet jacks, dollies, forklifts safely and follow DOT/HOS and EHS policies.

Job Title: Delivery Driver / Retail Sales Rep I (Delivery Driver-Warehouse Associate-Retail Sales 1)

Location: Easton, MD

Pay Rate: $19.00 - $22.00 / hour

Schedule: Commonly an 8-hour shift scheduled between 7 AM and 6 PM, Monday-Saturday (Full-Time/Part-Time, Regular/Temp, Non-Exempt)

Role Overview: A person in this position is responsible for safely driving a class B or C vehicle (CDL not required) to perform deliveries, support customer purchases, and improve relationships. The role spans multiple operational areas, including managing and replenishing consignments, recovering used batteries, performing customer installations, and completing warehouse tasks (shipping, receiving, labeling, loading, inventory control, and battery reconditioning). You will also be responsible for selling goods and providing a positive customer experience on the retail floor, via phone, or email.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivery & Logistics: Safely drive and deliver products, pick up used batteries, and maintain/replenish consignment products for customers. Plan efficient routes and ensure accurate, staged, and safe stocking of vehicles.

• Retail & Customer Service: Assist retail customers, perform battery installations, educate customers on monthly promoted products, and maintain a stocked, clean retail showroom.

• Warehouse Duties: Load and offload vehicles, prepare shipments, perform inventory cycle counts, label products, and perform battery charging and reconditioning. Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean warehouse environment.

• Safety & Compliance: Operate manual pallet jacks, dollies, forklifts, and other material handling equipment safely. Maintain strict adherence to HAZCOM safety procedures, DOT/HOS requirements, and environmental health and safety (EHS) policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: AA Degree or equivalent (3.0 or higher GPA preferred).

• Driving Record: Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with little to no safety concerns within the past 3 years.

• Experience: Minimum 3 years working in a Driver, Warehouse Associate, or Retail capacity (or minimum 1 year internally at Continental Battery Systems as a Level 2 Driver/Handler/Rep).

• Skills: Advanced knowledge of safe driving procedures (including forklifts) and safe material handling. General skill level in math, organization, basic business software (Google Workspace, NetSuite preferred), and professional customer communication. Typing accuracy of 30 WPM.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

• Ability to comfortably carry products weighing up to 125 lbs (group lifts for heavier weight required) across diverse customer conditions.

• Physical endurance to move individual battery units in quantities exceeding 2 tons in a day.

• Must be able to continuously squat, kneel, stoop, reach, and safely handle heavy material.

• Required PPE includes non-slip safety-toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and company uniforms.
