Job summary

Univar Solutions is seeking an Operations Coordinator to ensure accurate SAP ERP transactions and support daily plant operations at the Phoenix site. You will partner with Operations Managers and Supervisors to track shipments, manage inventory, maintain documentation, and help keep the site safe, efficient, and compliant.

The role involves coordinating inventory flow, handling put-aways, cycle counts, and vendor returns while supporting customer order fulfillment and scheduling.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel; SAP experience preferred.
  • Experience shipping/receiving and using inventory systems; chemistry knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate inventory flow.
  • Receive and handle put-aways.
  • Follow-up on back orders and cycle counts.
  • Make adjustments for transfers.
  • Track damaged, aged, and quarantine inventory.
  • Maintain warehouse computer setup.
  • Handle vendor returns and credit memos.
  • Print POs and ensure 3PL inventory availability.
  • Collaborate with purchasing on aged inventory.
  • Resolve miss-shipments and delivery issues.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and mis-deliveries.
  • Assist inbound/outbound scheduling.
  • Assist with purchasing supplies and purchase orders.

Primary Purpose:

The Operations Coordinator ensures accurate SAP ERP transactions and supports daily plant operations. This role partners with Operations Managers and Supervisors to track shipments, manage inventory, maintain documentation, and help keep the site safe, efficient, and compliant. Serving as a key liaison between Operations and internal teams, the Coordinator supports customer order fulfillment, shipment tracking, carrier coordination, and local vendor relationships.

What you’ll do:
  • Coordinate inventory flow
  • Responsible for receiving (REC) and handling put-a-ways, (PUT)
  • Follow-up on back orders and Handle cycle counts
  • Make appropriate adjustments for transfers
  • Track damaged material, aged inventory and quarantine material
  • Maintains warehouse computer set-up
  • Handle vendor material returns and Issue credit memo for product and container returns
  • Print PO’s with current location of product assuring 3PL inventory is available
  • Work with purchasing on aged inventory.
  • Resolve miss-shipments, damages and follow-up on receipt errors
  • Research and address problems with Inventory discrepancies and incorrect deliveries.
  • Assists with inbound and outbound scheduling
  • Assists with purchasing supplies and facilitates POs
What you’ll need:
  • SAP experience preferred
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong phone skills vital for problem resolution and customer service
  • The ability to read, write, count, understand and speak English
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience shipping and receiving products using a computer inventory system
  • Some product knowledge, chemical industry background and/or chemistry classes a plus
