A leading zoo in Indianapolis is seeking an Operations Coordinator for Encounters/Deserts. This full-time role involves managing daily operations, training staff, and ensuring animal welfare. Ideal candidates have a strong background in animal care and education in relevant fields.
The Indianapolis Zoo, a leader in animal conservation and a top tourist destination in Indiana, is located on a 93-acre campus in downtown Indianapolis. We support local and international conservation efforts. We are seeking a passionate individual for the full-time Operations Coordinator of Encounters/Deserts position.
The ideal candidate is committed to the Zoo's mission to protect nature and inspire care for our world. Requirements include at least five (5) years of full-time experience working with birds, reptiles, and/or amphibians in a keeper capacity, and a four-year bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Zoology, Animal Psychology, or related fields. The role involves training, scheduling, and working closely with the Assistant Curator to manage daily operations.
This is a full-time position (~40 hours/week), with shifts that may vary, including weekends and evenings. Overtime and holiday work may be required.
