Description

Position Title:Operations Coordinator - Dispatch

Department:Operations

Position reports to:Delivery Manager

Schedule:Monday through Friday 3 AM to 11:30 AM

Salary:Up to $52,500

Position Summary:

The Operations Coordinator – Dispatch plays a key role in the daily execution of delivery operations, ensuring route efficiency, compliance, and timely communication. This position is responsible for assigning delivery routes, managing dispatch activities, preparing driver documentation, and handling invoicing and reporting tasks. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Dispatch daily routes.
  • Direct delivery personnel including: daily instruction, route planning, route assignment, etc.
  • Print, sort, and prepare scan sheets and include them in driver packets.
  • Print and insert delinquent account reports into driver packets.
  • Check in OTR and Local inbound loads
  • Manage add on late orders to existing routes; cover late orders from the overnight recorder
  • Prepare weekly union roster, coordinate union vacation
  • Cover out-of-stock situations
  • Handle delivery problems to resolution
  • Check-in inbound loads and assign doors
  • Monitor and check-in driver loads as they return for their routes
  • Communicate all complementary orders to the assigned drivers clearly and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal motor carrier regulations, Department of Transportation, Occupational Safety and Health Administration compliance and Alcohol Beverage Commission regulations
  • Other duties as needed
Qualifications

  • Extremely reliable and punctual
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in operations, dispatching, or transportation logistics preferred.
  • Labor relations experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills with strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized with ability to manage priorities and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
  • Basic knowledge of local, state and federal liquor laws
  • Basic knowledge of safety, environmental and Department of Transportation requirements
  • Professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong internal and external customer orientation
  • Highly self-motivated and the ability to work additional hours as necessary
  • Proficient with MS Office
