Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Input administrative information into government systems, strictly excluding any certification or approval actions.
  • Provide data entry support and maintain accurate records.
  • Organize and maintain files, records, and documentation.
  • Assist with AFWFB document review and AFWFB policy creation and review.
  • Monitor shipment statuses, update tracking logs, and notify government staff of pending actions.
  • Assist with tracking expenditures and expenditure documentation.
  • Support financial tracking activities and gather vendor and product information for AFWFB expenditures.
  • Support the Senior Equipment Coordinator in planning, coordination, and administrative activities.
  • Support briefings, data calls, and reports for AFWFB senior leaders.
  • Provide documentation support for organizational initiatives and requirements.
  • Conduct Internet and data research as required and coordinate effectively with internal management, staff, outside clients, and vendors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by AFWFB Leadership on an ad hoc basis to facilitate operations.
  • Exercise flexibility, strong interpersonal skills, and appropriate discretion when handling sensitive or confidential matters.

Position Summary

CEMML at Colorado State University (CSU) is seeking applicants for an Operation Coordinator to work with the U.S. Air Force Wildland Fire Branch (AFWFB) based at Joint Base San Antonio, TX. The Coordinator is responsible for organizing, planning and coordinating office operations and procedures to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency within AFWFB. The Air Force Wildland Fire Branch (AFWFB) provides expertise, oversight, and guidance to manage wildland fire risk and sustain the Air Force mission at installations nationwide. The AFWFB also preserves and enhances the installations’ natural resources. The AFWFB specializes in the following core functions: Fire Planning and Risk Mitigation, Training and Certification, Fire Operations Support, and Fire Reporting and Analysis. CEMML is an applied research and service unit within the Warner College of Natural Resources at CSU. CEMML uses the latest and most appropriate science to promote the sustainable management of natural and cultural resources on Department of Defense (DOD) and other public lands. We provide technical support, conduct applied research, and offer career development and learning opportunities to support resource stewardship. We collaborate with our sponsors and within CSU to resolve complex environmental issues, leaving a legacy of science-based decisions that sustain our resources for future generations. Essential Job Duties

Conditions of Employment
  • Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license by employment start date.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. by proposed start date; CEMML will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
  • Must be able to comply with all applicable regulations to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC); required at a minimum to complete a NACI/SF85 and successfully pass a federal background check to remain eligible for employment.
  • Relocation expenses are NOT available for this position.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree natural resources, business administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge and experience using MS Office software.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic work environment and able to respond to short deadlines.
  • Familiarity with federal policies, instructions, and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Data management: data collection and organization.
  • Experience working in highly structured organizations, such as governmental agencies, or corporations, with established lines of authority, procedures and protocols.
  • Experience working with the Department of War.
  • Experience with the U.S. Air Force is preferred.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience tracking expenditures and expenditure documentation.
  • Experience researching vendor and product information.
  • Experience in policy creation and review.
  • Experience inputting data into government systems.
  • Familiarity with natural resources, specifically wildland fire and the required resources is preferred.
Salary Range

$55,000 – $58,000
