Job summary

ALTOR in Saint Petersburg, FL is seeking an Operations Coordinator to manage the flow of work and materials, coordinating production planning and purchasing activities. You will create schedules, enter data in EPICOR, and produce progress reports.

The role supports the plant and operations teams, interacts with vendors and internal departments, and requires strong organizational and communication skills to keep production on track and meet shipping dates.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year experience in production planning.
  • 2+ years in administrative functionality.
  • Knowledge of all Microsoft Office Applications.
  • 3+ years sourcing and purchasing: negotiating, communication, project management, supplier strategy.
  • Knowledge of materials requirements planning, BOMs and routings.
  • Knowledge of inventory control, product scheduling and distribution functions.
  • Self-motivating and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Plant Manager and Operations Manager in planning and scheduling.
  • Create a schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each department to meet shipping dates according to customer orders.
  • Create and distribute production schedules or work orders to the departments.
  • Enter data into EPICOR in regard to purchasing and production planning.
  • Prepare and communicate production reports on progress, inventory levels, costs, and production problems.
  • Coordinate all projects through the manufacturing process to meet required ship dates.
  • Serve as a communication link between the office and floor.
  • Handle clerical duties such as greeting visitors and callers, typing correspondence, making copies, sorting mail, and maintaining office equipment and office supplies.
  • Process and update records in a computer system based on business operations which may include customer service, distribution, and inventory movement and requisitioning.
  • Maintain entire office filing system by organizing and labeling documents pertaining to vendors, customers, shipping and inventory.
  • Confer with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress of completion and discuss needed changes.
  • Requisition and maintain inventories or materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands.
  • Research new alternative suppliers; including creating NDA & RFQ documents and conducting quotation analysis.
  • Evaluates supplier performance and on-time delivery; facilitates corrective action.
  • Confer with establishment personnel, vendors, or customers to resolve complaints or eliminate delays.
  • Assist’s Human Resources in maintaining workforce by communicating with operations and temp agencies to fill positions.
  • Handles onboarding, training, and timekeeping of temporary workforce.

Requirements
Education

High school Diploma or Equivalent

Experience/Knowledge
  • 1yr+ experience in production planning
  • 2 years + experience and knowledge of administrative functionality
  • Knowledge of all Microsoft Office Applications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with sourcing and purchasing functions such as negotiating, communication, project management, business analysis, supplier strategy and demand and product planning required.
  • Knowledge of materials requirements planning, BOMs and routings
  • Knowledge of Inventory control, product scheduling and distribution functions
  • Must be self-motivating and work independently with little direct supervision
Technical Role Competencies
  • The ability to analyze problems and make independent judgement to initiate corrective action or resolution
  • Demonstrate the ability to display diplomacy in day to day interaction with the commitment to task with awareness of urgency.
  • Ability to utilize various personal office software within a LAN environment, including spreadsheet, word- processing and data base soft where.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Sitting at workstation approximately 85 percent of work time. Standing and walking approximately 15 percent of work time.
  • Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice.
  • Typical office environment with shelves overhead and above work surfaces.
