Job summary

Barnard College is seeking an Associate Controller, Operations to lead the College’s core financial transactions including payroll, accounts payable, purchasing, and travel/expense processing. You will drive operational discipline, strengthen internal controls, and partner with HR and IT to ensure reliable financial reporting.

Reporting to the Controller, you will supervise key operational finance functions and coordinate with campus units to maintain efficient, compliant, and well-controlled

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in accounting or financial operations.
• Experience overseeing payroll, accounts payable, and high-volume financial transactions.
• Experience supervising staff and managing operational workflows.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership for core financial transaction processes including payroll, AP, purchasing, travel and expenses.
• Ensure timely, accurate execution of high-volume financial transactions across the College.
• Serve as primary escalation point for operational financial issues affecting transactional workflows.
• Partner with HR, IT, and other units to ensure data accuracy and controls in Workday Finance.
