Socket.dev is seeking an Operations Business Analyst to bridge business stakeholders and technical teams. You will gather requirements for regulatory reporting, audits, and operational initiatives, coordinating cross-functional projects and documenting processes to improve efficiency and compliance.

You will collaborate with Compliance, Accounting, IT, and Data Analytics to translate needs into system enhancements and reporting solutions, supporting UAT and implementation of new processes.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary coordination point among Compliance, Accounting, Operations, IT, and Data Analytics to facilitate initiatives and audit activities.
  • Gather, analyze, document, and validate requirements for regulatory reporting, audits, and operations.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts for reporting and audit deliverables from banking partner.
  • Analyze processes to identify efficiency, accuracy, controls, and automation improvements.
  • Create and maintain process maps, business requirements, SOPs, and technical docs.
  • Support UAT, solution validation, and implementation of new processes and enhancements.
  • Foster relationships across the organization to enable cross-functional initiatives.

Position Summary

The Operations Business Analyst serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to support operational initiatives, regulatory reporting, compliance activities, and business process improvements. This role is responsible for gathering and documenting business requirements, coordinating cross-functional projects, analyzing existing processes, and helping implement solutions that improve operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.

This role also serves as a liaison for coordinating reporting requirements, audit requests, and operational initiatives between the organization and its banking partners, ensuring regulatory obligations and business objectives are met accurately, efficiently, and on time.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with stakeholders across Compliance, Accounting, Operations, Information Technology, Data Analytics, and external banking partners. This individual will possess strong analytical, communication, and project coordination skills and be capable of translating complex business needs into clearly documented requirements and actionable project plans.

Requirements
What You'll Do
  • Serve as the primary point of coordination among Compliance, Accounting, Operations, Information Technology, Data Analytics, to facilitate business initiatives, regulatory reporting, system enhancements, and audit activities.
  • Gather, analyze, document, and validate business requirements for:
    • Regulatory and compliance reporting
    • Internal and external audit requests
    • Operational initiatives
    • System enhancements
    • Process improvements
    • Business reporting
  • Serve as the primary coordinator between cross-functional groups for reporting requirements and audit requests received from the company's banking partner, ensuring timely and accurate completion of recurring daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual deliverables, as well as ad hoc requests.
  • Analyze business processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, controls, and automation.
  • Create and maintain process maps, workflow documentation, business requirements documents, standard operating procedures, and other technical documentation.
  • Facilitate meetings with business stakeholders to define requirements, resolve issues, and communicate project status.
  • Partner with Information Technology and Data teams to translate business requirements into system enhancements and reporting solutions.
  • Develop and maintain documentation supporting consumer finance products, operational workflows, accounting processes, compliance requirements, and reporting procedures.
  • Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT), solution validation, and implementation of new processes and system enhancements.
  • Build strong working relationships across the organization and serve as a trusted resource for cross-functional initiatives.
What You'll Bring:
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Information Systems, Project/Change Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in business analysis, business systems analysis, project coordination, operations, or process improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex business processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience documenting business requirements, workflows, business processes, and standard operating procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using project management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Monday.com or Asana.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and general data management concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within the consumer finance, lending, banking, or broader financial services industry.
  • Experience serving as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business needs into functional requirements and coordinating implementation efforts.
  • Experience supporting regulatory reporting, compliance activities, and internal or external audit functions.
  • Working knowledge of SQL sufficient to understand database structures, interpret queries, validate data, and participate in technical discussions.
  • Familiarity with accounting and financial reporting processes.
  • Experience working with data reporting, business intelligence, and operational analytics initiatives.
  • Project management or business analysis certifications such as PMP, CAPM, CBAP, PMI-PBA, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
