The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

Job Summary:

As an Operations Automation Technician, you will support robotic and automated systems and serve as liaison to project teams and operation management teams.

    • 1st Shift: Monday-Friday 6:30am-2:30pm
    • 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday 2:30pm-10:30pm

What You Will Do:

  • Troubleshoot robotic and automated systems; perform preventative maintenance and ad hoc maintenance tasks.
  • Partner with support teams on application / software troubleshooting. Serves as the operational owner of ticket resolution and communication to stakeholders.
  • Train end users and operations support teams on the automated system applications.
  • Coordinate and tracks maintenance inventory. Serves as a liaison to new system installation alongside project teams.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for automated system applications; maintain the standards and documentation for automated system applications.

What You Have (Required Skills):

  • Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools, and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application, or operation.
  • Knowledge of Robotics: Knowledge of designing, programming, and operating robots for various applications; ability to utilize programming languages and robotics knowledge to automate the necessary operations of the organization.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • Industrial Automation/Automatic Control: Knowledge of various industrial automatic control systems, processes and methodologies in a manufacturing environment; ability to design, implement and maintain automatic production systems/processes to improve productivity and efficiency, as well as minimize human intervention.
  • Experience with integrating AMRs (autonomous mobile robots)
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Exacta Software

Summary Pay Range:

$71,040.00 - $106,440.00
