Job summary

JCPenney in New York is seeking an Operations Associate to support a high-energy store environment before opening. The role emphasizes customer service, pricing/signing, restocking, and backroom organization to ensure a smooth pre-opening setup.

You will work with a team to unload merchandise, maintain stockroom standards, and contribute to omnichannel initiatives such as Buy Online Pickup in Store and Ship from Store. This is an early morning position with a focus on teamwork and fast execution.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service - help customers and be the go-to person in-store.
• Executes pricing and signing - adjust ticket prices and signage quickly and accurately.
• Replenish and restock the store - prepare merchandise for the floor to meet customer needs.
• Receive and unload merchandise - assist with backroom prep.
• Backroom standards - keep stockroom clean and safe.
• Omnichannel - contribute to Buy Online Pickup in Store, Ship from Store, and Returns.
• Merchandise strategy - implement floor plans as directed by leadership.
• Participates in a learning environment - absorb new store processes and policies.

Job description

The Operations Associate's role is to create an outstanding customer experience by performing operations functions within the store. The Operations Associate role is an early morning position and you will work with a team to perform functions prior to store opening.

Primary Responsibilities

• Customer Service - You maneuver around the store at a fast pace and when a customer stops to ask you a question or request assistance, there’s no one else they'd prefer to talk to.
• Executes pricing and signing - You can change ticket prices and sign merchandise across the store faster than anyone.
• Replenish and restock the store - You understand the needs of the customer and assist your sales floor peers and leaders by pulling and preparing merchandise to go to the floor in order to ensure all customers have the styles and sizes they need.
• Receive and unload merchandise - You work with your co‑workers to unload a truck and prepare the merchandise in the backroom.
• Backroom standards - You keep the stockroom safe, clean, and organized.
• Omnichannel - You will contribute to omnichannel efforts including Buy Online Pickup in Store, Ship from Store, Order Delivery and Returns, Shipping Online Orders, and Merchandise Receiving.
• Merchandise strategy - You take the plans that have been communicated by leadership on where to place merchandise throughout the store and execute them with efficiency and detail.
• Participates in a learning environment - You absorb new information from your peers or training materials on merchandise, shrink, safety, productivity, and other business processes.

Pay Range

USD $17.00/Hr - USD $21.25/Hr.
