Job summary

PEAK6 Capital Management is seeking an Operations Associate to support back-office processes, reconcile trades and positions, and contribute to data quality control. You will collaborate with traders and technologists to advance the firm’s operational excellence and efficiency.

The role requires SQL and Excel VBA proficiency, strong analytical skills, and the ability to resolve issues with urgency. Hybrid work is offered with remote capability up to two days weekly.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile trades, positions, and P&L with trading desks and clearing firms every morning.

• Continuously review operating processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Review and maintain trading data; perform ad hoc projects as needed.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

As an Operations Associate at PEAK6, you’ll be integral to maintaining and improving the firm’s processes and procedures by collaborating with traders and technologists to advance the firm’s position as an innovative leader in the industry. You will be focusing on the back office duties to support the business – including position reconciliation, data quality control, and resolving issues that arise. Working in Operations at PEAK6 means that you’ll always be presented with a variety of new possibilities as you continue to enhance your skills.

YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Working with trading desks and clearing firms to identify, investigate, and reconcile trades, positions, and profit/loss every morning
• Collaborating with the finance team on month end reporting
• Developing relationships with Traders, Technology, TT Solutions to execute firm initiatives
• Continuously reviewing operating processes to ensure that they are efficient and effective
• Reviewing and maintaining trading data
• Performing ad hoc project work as needed

YOUR EXPERIENCE

• Proficiency in SQL and Excel VBA
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to understand, analyze and creatively solve problems
• Strong sense of urgency when it comes to support resolution
• The ability to dig into the details
• The ability to pass Series57 licensing exam upon hire
• Technical proficiency in Python not mandatory but strongly preferred

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and office location. Base Salary Range $70,400-$88,000
