Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
3. Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
4. Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
6. Keep all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
7. When the Store Manager is not present, assume direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
8. Process all corporate directives related to store activities, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information.
9. Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies.
10. Ensure proper staffing coverage daily.
11. Maintain a sales-effective sales floor daily.
12. Manage cashiering activities to follow all cash handling practices and guidelines.
13. Ensure promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
14. Manage sales effectiveness of seasonal store areas.
15. Coordinate signage used in the store.
16. Process damaged merchandise daily.
17. Assist in creating weekly schedules.
18. Manage store supplies and control expenses.
19. Maintain merchandising and checkout areas to maximize impulse sales.
20. Refill coolers and front-of-store displays daily, including balloon programs, sunglasses, batteries, etc.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
