Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
3. Assist in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash.
4. Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
6. Maintain all areas of the store to company standards, including recovery of the stockroom and sales floor.
7. When the Store Manager is absent, take supervisory responsibility for all hourly Associates.
8. Process all directives from SSC Corporate, including pull and hold/destroy, task compliance, and key survey information.
9. Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies.
10. Ensure proper staffing coverage daily.
11. Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective daily.
12. Manage cashiering activities to follow all cash handling practices and guidelines.
13. Enhance promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
14. Manage seasonal sales areas.
15. Coordinate store signage.
16. Process damaged merchandise daily.
17. Assist in creating weekly schedules.
18. Manage store supplies and control expenses.
19. Assist with merchandising and maintaining checkout areas to maximize impulse sales.
20. Refill coolers and storefront displays daily, including programs like balloons, sunglasses, and batteries.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
