Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
  2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
  3. Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
  4. Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
  5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
  6. Keep all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
  7. When the Store Manager is not present, assume direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly Associates.
  8. Process all SSC Corporate directives related to store activities.
  9. Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies.
  10. Ensure proper staffing coverage daily.
  11. Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective daily.
  12. Manage cashiering activities to follow all cash handling practices and guidelines.
  13. Support promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
  14. Manage sales effectiveness of seasonal areas.
  15. Coordinate signage used in the store.
  16. Process damaged merchandise daily.
  17. Assist with weekly scheduling.
  18. Help manage store supplies and control expenses.
  19. Assist with merchandising and maintaining the checkout area to maximize impulse sales.
  20. Ensure coolers and displays are refilled daily with promotional items.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • Prefer prior retail and management experience.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
  • Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
