Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
3. Assist in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash.
4. Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
6. Maintain all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
7. When the Store Manager is not on the premises, assume direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
8. Process all SSC Corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information.
9. Assist with the receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies and procedures.
10. Assist in ensuring proper staffing coverage daily.
11. Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective daily.
12. Manage cashiering activities to ensure all cash handling practices & guidelines are followed.
13. Coordinate store signage and promotional displays.
14. Manage seasonal areas and merchandise displays.
15. Process damaged merchandise daily.
16. Assist with weekly schedule creation.
17. Manage store supplies and control expenses.
18. Maintain the checkout area to maximize impulse sales.
19. Refill coolers and front-of-store displays daily.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
