Responsible for assisting with all operational tasks within the store as delegated and assigned by the Store Manager, with a main focus on front-end and sales floor operations. Also assist with hiring, training, and developing store associates as delegated by the Store Manager.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities as directed by the Store Manager
• Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager
• Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Follow all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines
• Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors
• Keep all areas of the store, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery
• When the Store Manager is not on the premises, take supervisory responsibility for all hourly Associates
• Process all SSC Corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information, requests, and other communications related to store activities as delegated by the Store Manager
• Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD Policies and Procedures
• Ensure proper staffing coverage daily
• Help ensure the sales floor is sales-effective daily
• Manage cashiering activities to follow all cash handling practices & guidelines
• Oversee promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays
• Manage seasonal sales areas and coordinate signage
• Assist with merchandise receipt and return, including damaged goods
• Support the creation of weekly schedules
• Manage store supplies and control expenses
• Assist with merchandising and maintaining checkout area for impulse sales
• Refill coolers and store-front displays daily (e.g., balloons, sunglasses, batteries)

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience preferred
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment
