Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
3. Assist in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash.
4. Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
6. Maintain all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
7. When the Store Manager is not on the premises, have direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
8. Process all corporate directives and communications related to store activities as delegated by the Store Manager.
9. Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies.
10. Ensure proper staffing coverage daily and sales effectiveness of the sales floor and seasonal areas.
11. Manage cashiering activities to ensure cash handling practices and guidelines are followed.
12. Coordinate signage and promotional displays in the store.
13. Process damaged merchandise daily.
14. Assist in creating weekly schedules and managing store supplies and expenses.
15. Maintain merchandising and checkout areas to maximize sales, and ensure coolers and displays are refilled daily.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
