Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
2. Able to perform all opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
3. Assist the Store Manager in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash.
4. Adhere to all policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
6. Maintain all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
7. When the Store Manager is not on the premises, have direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly Associates.
8. Process all SSC Corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and any additional communications related to store activities as delegated by the Store Manager.
9. Assist the Store Manager with the receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD Policies and Procedures.
10. Assist the Store Manager in ensuring proper staffing coverage daily.
11. Help ensure the sales floor is sales-effective daily.
12. Manage cashiering activities to ensure all cash handling practices & guidelines are followed at all times by all Associates.
13. Coordinate store signage and promotional displays.
14. Assist with the receipt and return of DSD merchandise and process damaged merchandise daily.
15. Help create weekly schedules.
16. Assist in managing store supplies and controlling expenses.
17. Support merchandising and maintenance of checkout areas to maximize impulse sales.
18. Ensure coolers and store-front displays are refilled daily, including programs like balloons, sunglasses, batteries, etc.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
