Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
• Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, staff, and supervisors.
• Keep all areas of the store, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
• When the Store Manager is not present, take supervisory responsibility for hourly Associates.
• Process all directives from SSC Corporate, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information.
• Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD Policies and Procedures.
• Help ensure proper staffing coverage daily.
• Assist with managing cashiering activities to follow cash handling practices and guidelines.
• Support promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Help manage sales effectiveness of seasonal areas.
• Coordinate signage used in the store.
• Process damaged merchandise daily.
• Assist with creating weekly schedules.
• Help manage store supplies and control expenses.
• Assist with merchandising and maintaining checkout areas to maximize impulse sales.
• Ensure coolers and displays are refilled daily with promotional items.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
