Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
  2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
  3. Assist in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash.
  4. Adhere to all policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
  5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
  6. Maintain all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
  7. When the Store Manager is not on the premises, assume direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
  8. Process all corporate directives and store communications as delegated by the Store Manager.
  9. Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies.
  10. Ensure proper staffing coverage and sales floor effectiveness daily.
  11. Manage cashiering activities to ensure cash handling practices and guidelines are followed.
  12. Coordinate store signage and manage seasonal displays and fixtures.
  13. Manage store supplies and expense control.
  14. Assist with merchandising and maintaining checkout area for impulse sales.
  15. Refill coolers and display racks daily.
  16. Assist in creating weekly schedules.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • Prefer prior retail and management experience.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
  • Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
