Job Skills / Requirements
The Operations Assistant supports daily security operations by coordinating staffing, employee and client support, recordkeeping, and service delivery. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role works closely with Operations leadership, Human Resources, Site Supervisors, Security Officers, and the DK Command Center. All disciplinary, employment, contract, and client commitment decisions must be referred to Operations leadership.

2nd Shift Monday-Friday 3pm-11pm
Shift times may vary to fit business needs; MUST have flexible availability
40+ hours per week (Full-Time)
COMPENSATION
Rate of Pay: $42,000/year paid bi-weekly.

LOCATION
This is an in-office or on-site position, and work is not typically done remotely from home. This position reports to the Company Headquarters in Grand Rapids, MI.
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
West Michigan.
Job Duties
- Support Operations leadership in managing contract and temporary accounts, staffing needs, employee support, and service issues.
- Monitor schedules, coordinate shift coverage with Site Supervisors and the DK Command Center, maintain staffing records, and elevate unfilled shifts.
- Work billable Security Officer assignments as needed; armed assignments require proper licensing and qualifications.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions, routing issues appropriately and escalating personnel concerns.
- Assist with client communications, meeting preparation, service documentation, and follow-up while escalating matters requiring management approval.
- Conduct site visits and inspections, document findings, and report significant operational concerns.
- Support payroll and billing processes by reviewing timekeeping and scheduling records, identifying discrepancies, and submitting documentation on time.
- Coordinate recruiting, onboarding, training, uniform issuance, and employee placement with HR and Operations leadership.
- Maintain training records and ensure compliance with required certifications and training schedules.
- Assist with temporary account deployment, employee communications, equipment distribution, and operational logistics.
- Maintain account, employee, incident, training, and operational records; review reports for completeness and accuracy.
- Support performance evaluations and corrective action documentation as directed. Formal disciplinary and employment decisions remain the responsibility of management.
- Track and manage company equipment and uniform inventories.
- Participate in meetings, prepare updates, document action items, and maintain operational tracking systems.
- Provide assigned after-hours and on-call support, including responding to staffing issues, employee concerns, and client matters.
- Support business development efforts through lead tracking, research, proposal support, and regional growth initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and applicable laws.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Security Management concentration preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of security management experience in a corporate or government environment preferred.
- Must meet all background requirements, including no felony convictions or disqualifying misdemeanor offenses.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors, respond to emergencies, stand/walk for extended periods, and lift up to 70 lbs.
- Must pass a drug screening, including marijuana.
- Must possess or be able to quickly obtain a Concealed Pistol License (CPL).
- Professional appearance and strong customer service skills required.
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret English-language documents and reports.
- Basic math proficiency required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
