Job summary

Titan America LLC is seeking an Area Manager for the Fayetteville, NC region to lead all ready-mix plant operations with emphasis on safety, cost control, and process improvements. The role reports to the Operations Manager and requires regional travel across multiple plants.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations, budgeting, and team leadership, with relevant certifications and a track record of improving performance while ensuring compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

  • Certifications: ACI and DOT Batch Plant Operator Certification or ability to obtain within 1 year of service.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, along with 5-7 years management experience.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills; ability to manage multiple plants and crews.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all regional operational performance across plants in the Fayetteville region and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Establish and lead a safety culture and ensure environmental compliance with all regulations and standards.
  • Assist in budgeting and manage hours, overtime, and yard efficiency to support regional financial performance.
  • Guide staffing, interviewing, and hiring for operations personnel within the region.
  • Analyze production performance against KPIs and drive root-cause analysis for improvements.
  • Manage operating budget with a focus on cost optimization and project delivery on time and within budget.

About the Role

The Area Manager in our Fayetteville NC Region (Fayetteville, Spring Lake, Lumberton, Elizabethtown, Whiteville, Clinton) is a salaried exempt position reporting to the Operations Manager. The Area Manager works independently and is responsible for providing direction and leadership for all ready mix plant operations across plants in the region, including but not limited to financials, budgeting, operations, safety, quality, sales and environmental compliance.

The primary function of this position is to provide direction and leadership to the Operations personnel while ensuring the performance and safety standards are maintained within the region and includes system and personnel efficiencies, production, process improvements, and reducing plant costs.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee, maintain, and manage all regional operational performance activities, ensuring compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Establish and lead a performance based Safety Culture, ensuring Environmental compliance with all regulations and standards, ensure compliance with all safety incident reporting requirements
  • Support the financial performance of the region by managing hours, overtime, and yards per driver hour; assist in budget preparation
  • Promote and measure performance of all personnel towards established objectives, ensuring compliance with all Company policies
  • Analyzes production performance versus Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to meet or exceed established key performance indicators
  • Meets daily production schedules, documents system performance, identifies and analyzes problem area breakdown trends; conducts root cause analyses and develops sustainable solutions to reoccurring problems
  • Manages operating budget while focusing upon optimization and reduction of costs
  • Provides project management direction to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Ensure all equipment is operated and maintained properly, to include housekeeping by managing the training and development of personnel
  • Responsible for staffing of operations personnel to include reviewing resumes, interviewing, and hiring of candidates
  • Investigate and resolve employee concerns, involving appropriate departments as needed
  • Manage the inventory process at all plants and ensure all inventory is documented and submitted on time
  • Ensure that all preventative maintenance actions are completed and documented and all plant equipment is in proper working order
  • Facilitate the expansion of sales to existing customers and the development of sales to new customers
  • Gather pertinent information on market conditions and competition in geographical territory and research specifications in order to make informed decisions in preparing bid packages and strategic initiatives
  • Other duties may be assigned as required
Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certifications: ACI and DOT Batch Plant Operator Certification or ability to obtain within 1 year of service.

  • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines, assist in the resolution of technical problems, and manage ambiguous information effectively
  • Ability to travel within the region daily; elsewhere as needed, must possess and maintain acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work extended hours, holidays, nights and weekends
  • Knowledge of sales, quality assurance, maintenance, and dispatch, preferred
  • Physical job requirements include working outdoors with exposure to heat and cold, constant standing and walking, climbing, working from heights and lifting up to 50 lbs
