OPAL Fuels in Detroit, MI seeks an Operations and Maintenance Technician Floater with 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience to join our Services department. This full-time role reports to a Regional Service Manager and is ideally located in Detroit, MI with on-site responsibilities.

You will diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems on CNG compressor equipment, perform routine maintenance, conduct safety checks, handle on-call shifts, travel to sites, and document service

Qualifications

• Three to five years of industrial maintenance experience and troubleshooting automated equipment.
• HS Diploma or Equivalent is required; electronics coursework/certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and instrument components using test equipment and hand tools.
• Perform routine maintenance on CNG compressor equipment including pumps, valves, meters, and rotating equipment.
• Inspect electrical systems for hazards and defects, and ensure safety devices function properly.
• Test electrical circuits with appropriate devices and document results.
• Provide on-site service and report equipment failures to supervisor.
• Conduct daily walk-around inspections and maintain good housekeeping.
• Ensure vendors follow company policies and procedures; manage 24-hour on-call status.
• Service existing accounts with site visits and customer communications.
• Respond to emergencies and preventive maintenance calls in an organized manner.
• Book travel and track expenses; document service actions with forms and logs.

Position Summary

We are hiring for a Operations and Maintenance Technician Floater with at least3years of experience to work in our Servicesdepartment. This position reports to a Regional Service Managerand will ideally be located in Detroit, MI.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and instrument components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Routine maintenance on various operating CNG compressor equipment, including, but not limited to, pumps, valves, meters, rotating equipment, and various other equipment.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters.
• Ensures that all station equipment, including safety devices and systems are functioning properly, and reports any equipment failures to supervisor.
• Performs daily walk around inspections to identify any potential risks and ensure good housekeeping standards are always maintained.
• Ensures that all vendors accessing Station follow all Company Policies and Procedures.
• 24 Hour on-call status required.
• Service existing accounts by routinely calling on customers, receiving calls from customers, and routine site visits.
• Respond to emergency calls and preventative maintenance calls in an organized manner.
• Responsible to book all travel and track all expenses.
• Documents service actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.

Qualifications and Skills

• Three to five years of industrial maintenance experience, troubleshooting and repairing automated equipment.
• HS Diploma or Equivalent.
• Coursework or certification in electronic technology preferred.
• Good communication skills (written and verbal for reporting purposes); attention to detail.
• Must be able to lift 60lbs.
• Computer skills, schematics
• Wide range construction technology knowledge and materials, preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to travel to other locations

Work Hours and Arrangements

Expected hours no less than 40 per week

Pay

The range for this role is anticipated to be $32.00 - $36.00 hourly and bonus for eligible positions. Where a specific pay range is noted, it is a good faith estimate at the time of this posting.The actual salary offered will be based on experience, skills, qualifications, market / business considerations, and geographic location.
