Title: Operations Specialist - Venture capital and Investment
Location : - Remote for NY and CA
Duration: 1 Year Contract with possible conversion to FTE
Payrate: $40.00 per hr on W2

Job Summary:

The Deal Operations Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the end-to-end operational lifecycle of venture capital and private equity investments. This individual will work closely with investment teams, legal, finance, and portfolio companies to ensure the accurate and timely execution, documentation, and tracking of deals. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, familiarity with VC or private equity transaction processes, and a proactive approach to improving investment workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deal Execution Support:
  • Coordinate the operational aspects of investment transactions from initial approval to funding.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and record-keeping for capital calls, wire transfers, and ownership positions.
  • Liaise with internal and external legal teams to manage closing documents, NDAs, term sheets, and investment contracts.
• Data & Document Management:
  • Maintain deal and portfolio data in internal systems such as Carta, Affinity, Salesforce, or custom CRMs.
  • Organize and manage digital deal rooms, cap tables, and closing documentation.
  • Track key deal metrics, funding rounds, and valuation changes.
• Compliance & Reporting:
  • Support internal compliance processes related to deal approvals, KYC/AML, and regulatory filings.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual reporting for LPs, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner with investment teams, finance, legal, and portfolio operations to ensure seamless execution and post-close follow-up.
  • Coordinate communications and data collection with portfolio companies for monitoring and reporting purposes.
• Process Improvement:
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline deal workflows and reduce operational risk.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of deal tracking systems and operational playbooks.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or related financial operations roles.
• Strong understanding of deal structures, investment documentation, and cap tables.
• Experience with investment tools such as Carta, Workday, DocuSign, Affinity, or similar platforms.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deals simultaneously under tight deadlines.
• Strong Excel and data management skills; Tableau or CRM experience is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with fund structures (LP/GP), capital calls, and portfolio valuation concepts.
• Experience working with early-stage startup investments.
• Interest in venture capital, innovation, and emerging technologies.
