Job summary

Client Solution Architects (CSA) seeks an Operational Specialist II to support a program in Norfolk, VA. The role focuses on joint training planning, exercise control, and simulation system support, with expertise across multiple warfare domains and ISD-based courseware design.

The position requires TS/SCI eligibility, an associate or bachelor's degree with years of experience, and a strong background in joint doctrine and training environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of joint training events in alignment with Joint and Service doctrine and combat service support requirements.
• Apply functional area expertise across fire support, information operations, maritime, air, amphibious, and space warfare operations to meet specific event objectives.
• Develop comprehensive rotational event timelines, track milestones, and maintain the integrity of event schedules from planning through execution.
• Establish and maintain working relationships with Observer/Trainers (OTs), operations personnel, and work cell augmentees.
• Plan, develop, and refine the Master Scenario Events List (MSEL) in coordination with the Joint Exercise Control Group (JECG) to drive training objectives.
• Develop and present operational briefs, doctrinal reports, orders, map overlays, and graphical symbology to support communications and problem resolution.
• Develop After Action Report (AAR) products capturing observations, lessons learned, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Provide expert support for federated modeling and simulation environments, including JTLS, JLVC, JCATS, and JOPES, as well as emerging applications.
• Execute simulation special functions, such as repositioning units and adjusting unit strength or supplies, in support of exercise control requirements.
• Design and develop complex, interactive web-based and blended learning courseware applying Instructional Systems Design (ISD) principles for military training environments.
• Administer Learning Management Systems (LMS) and provide Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) support, ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
