Operational Technology Security Senior Engineer

A global manufacturing organisation is seeking an Operational Technology Security Senior Engineer to lead site-level OT security initiatives across a manufacturing environment. The role focuses on asset management, vulnerability remediation, equipment backup and recovery, incident response and collaboration between IT, business and manufacturing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary site representative for regional OT security initiatives.
- Lead communication meetings, provide technical support and deliver OT security training to site teams.
- Manage and maintain visibility of manufacturing equipment assets through vulnerability management and intrusion detection systems.
- Lead annual vulnerability remediation plans and support the investigation and resolution of intrusion detection alerts.
- Establish and maintain equipment backup and recovery targets across the site.
- Provide technical support for equipment backup and recovery issues.
- Coordinate incident response activities with site stakeholders.
- Partner with IT and business users to ensure secure operation of manufacturing environments.
- Contribute subject matter expertise to the development of OT security tools, systems and processes.
- Support regional initiatives across OT security prevention, vulnerability management and incident response/recovery.
- Help improve standardisation and security practices across multiple manufacturing sites.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Networking, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience working with machine control networks and/or Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
- Basic understanding of communication networks and cybersecurity fundamentals.
- Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen within a technical environment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across technical and business functions.
Working Conditions
- Flexible working hours and schedule.
- Approximately 2–4 business trips per year may be required to support regional initiatives.
- Travel may include short-term assignments of 1–2 weeks at other sites.
- Approximately 0–5 hours of overtime per week.
- Weekend and holiday work may occasionally be required.
