Blue-Signal-Search is seeking an Operational Technology Network Engineer to design, implement, and support OT network infrastructure for critical facilities in a hybrid role based in San Francisco, CA with remote options nationwide. You will help ensure reliability, security, and scalability of networks supporting building automation, industrial controls, and data center operations.

Qualifications

• Several years of OT or critical infrastructure networking experience.
• Strong knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching.
• Experience with building automation or industrial control systems.
• Proficiency in network security principles for OT environments.
• Ability to collaborate with facilities and controls teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support OT network infrastructure for critical facility systems.
• Develop secure network architectures for building automation and industrial controls.
• Establish repeatable rollout practices across distributed sites.
• Configure network segmentation, firewall policies, routing, switching, and secure remote connectivity.

Focus

• Design, implement, and support operational technology network infrastructure serving critical facility systems.

• Partner closely with facilities, controls, commissioning, and infrastructure engineering teams throughout project lifecycles.
• Monitor network health, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and optimize performance while maintaining high availability.
• Assist with cybersecurity initiatives, access controls, network monitoring, and compliance best practices within OT environments.
• Produce technical documentation, implementation standards, network diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Support commissioning activities, infrastructure upgrades, and ongoing operational improvements.

Skill Set

• Several years of experience designing and supporting operational technology, industrial, or critical infrastructure networks.
• Strong understanding of Ethernet networking, TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, and network security principles.
• Experience supporting building automation systems, industrial controls, facility management systems, or similar operational technologies.
• Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols, including BACnet/IP or comparable technologies.
• Experience implementing secure network segmentation and firewall solutions within operational environments.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with controls engineers, facilities teams, and infrastructure stakeholders.
• Familiarity with network monitoring, diagnostics, and performance optimization tools.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex networking challenges.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience supporting data center infrastructure, industrial cybersecurity frameworks, or critical facility environments is considered a plus.
