Job summary

Lowe's Companies, Inc. in Edwardsville, IL is seeking a Receiving Clerk to log incoming purchase orders, audit receiving paperwork, and help maintain stocked stores. The role requires lifting and operating warehouse equipment in a distribution setting.

You will work with distributors and the Receiving team, using distribution software to manage merchandise flow and assist with loading, stocking, and unloading as needed. Safety and accuracy are essential in this role.

Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Log incoming purchase orders and audit receiving paperwork for accuracy.
  • Assist inventory to keep stores stocked for customers.
  • Call vendors for packing lists and freight bills as needed and maintain filing system for receiving packets.
  • Operate distribution computer systems to control merchandise flow; unload trailers and stock merchandise.
  • Support Receiving team and perform other duties as assigned.

This role assists inventory to ensure that all stores are appropriately stocked for customers and observes incoming/outgoing merchandise for defects and damage. The Receiving Clerk will call vendors for packing lists and freight bills as necessary and maintain a comprehensive filing system for completed receiving packets. The role operates distribution computers systems as required to efficiently control merchandise flow, uses industrial motorized and non-motorized equipment to unload trailers, transport, select, stock, and load heavy/large merchandise as needed to assist Receiving team as well as perform all other duties as assigned by Coach.

Travel Requirements: This role does not require regular travel.

What\'s We\'re Looking For
  • Required to work a set schedule that may be changed/modified by management based on the needs of the facility.
  • Requires availability to work morning, afternoon, nights, or weekends depending upon assigned shift and overtime based on the needs of the facility.
  • Must work in a distribution/warehouse environment with the physical and environmental aspects typically associated with such environment.
  • Minimally must be able to lift 25 pounds; ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications
What You Need to Succeed
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Demonstrated track record of good attendance
  • Basic math and reading comprehension skills
  • Basic computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • If internal, no written warnings within the last 6 months or final warnings within the last 12 months
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in business, supply chain management, transportation or related field
  • Experience in a customer service role
  • Experience using troubleshooting processes to resolve problems
  • Experience in distribution center operations
  • Experience with software applications such as Excel, Access or data management system (Lowe\u2019s DMS preferred)
  • Experience managing multiple projects/tasks simultaneously requiring a strong ability to prioritize and manage time
  • Previous power equipment experiences ( e.g. Reach truck or RC)
