Job summary

Citi in San Antonio, Texas, seeks an Operational Risk Intmd Analyst to join the Risk Management function. The role develops professional expertise, applying analytical thinking and data analysis tools to support internal fraud detections, governance routines, and risk-based decision-making.

Ideal candidates possess 2-5 years in Fraud, Financial Crimes, Risk or Banking Operations, plus strong organizational and communication skills and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years previous experience preferably in Fraud, Financial Crimes, Risk and Controls or Banking Operations.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize and adapt to change.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to both work collaboratively and independently; ability to navigate a complex organization.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications ( Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Project management skills, MCA knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Support the timely review of arising Internal Fraud anomalies and that such disposition satisfies required timeline expectations.
  • Support the thorough review and/or investigation of Internal Fraud anomalies and that such review satisfies current policies/procedures.
  • Support case tracking.
  • Work with the Global IF analytics team to ensure optimal detection routines are deployed and effectively managed.
  • Support / Implement the provision of meaningful Governance routines / MIS to facilitate the identification of risk / measurement of work and substantially support business decisions based upon the work performed.
  • Support the deployment of the required Detection tools / platforms / protocols to ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness is delivered.
  • Provide thoughtful feedback to leadership to contribute to the continuing evolution of the NAM IF focused function.
  • Performs other duties and functions assigned.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Operational Risk Intmd Analyst

The Operational Risk Intmd Analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.
