Job summary

Bestica is seeking a Data Scientist/Health Analyst to support the 711th Human Performance Wing at Wright‑Patterson AFB, OH. The role involves designing and leading analyses of health surveillance data, military records, and population health metrics to inform readiness and performance.

The ideal candidate has an MPH/MS/PhD in Epidemiology or Statistics with 5+ years of public health analytics, strong SAS skills, and experience with Tableau, Python or R.

Qualifications

• MPH/MS/PhD in Epidemiology, Statistics, Data Science, Bioinformatics or similar.
• At least 5 years of experience with statistics in public health.
• Advanced analytical skills including visual analytics in population health and health data surveillance.
• Ability to design, conduct and lead data analyses of operational health surveillance data and military records.
• Proficiency in SAS, SAS Enterprise Guide, and Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities

• Design, formulate, conduct, and lead data analyses of health surveillance data and military records at multiple population levels.
• Draft reports and presentations on research findings and data analyses.
• Present results via briefings and publications in scientific venues.
• Develop and validate statistical models relating variables to outcomes of interest to the Air Force.
• Acquire data access permissions and maintain familiarity with relevant data repositories.
