Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking an Operational Flow Support Technician to serve as the primary technical resource for an automated warehouse operation. You will monitor the Warehouse Control System (WCS), coordinate issues between operations, maintenance, and remote support, and ensure equipment downtime is minimized.

You will investigate software errors, document incidents, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement fixes and improvements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Associate degree or technical certification in IT, Automation, CS, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support for Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) and related software applications.
• Monitor automated warehouse systems and respond to system alerts, faults, and operational issues.
• Investigate software errors by reviewing system logs, databases, and diagnostic information.
• Coordinate with onsite maintenance, operations, and remote engineering teams to resolve issues quickly.
• Document incidents, troubleshooting activities, and resolutions within a ticketing system.
• Escalate complex software or infrastructure issues to higher-level support while managing communication through resolution.
• Identify recurring issues and recommend process improvements to reduce system downtime.
• Support software updates, system enhancements, and change requests.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and work instructions.
• Assist in training team members on system functionality and best practices.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate degree or technical certification in Information Technology, Automation, Computer Science, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), or other industrial software applications.
• Experience working in an automated warehouse, distribution center, or manufacturing environment.
• Background troubleshooting software, automation, or industrial control systems.
• Experience supporting databases or performing application support.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• SQL databases (Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server).
• Software troubleshooting and log file analysis.
• Root cause analysis and problem-solving.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle concepts.
• Industrial automation environments.
• Technical documentation and work instruction development.
• Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word).
