Site OE And Capabilities Lead

Overview

This role leads all Operational Excellence and Capabilities activities for the CH PS NA Myerstown site. You will spearhead the deployment and integration of the Product Supply System (PSS) program and capabilities across all functions, transform the organization from a PSS phase 0 to phase 4, and achieve top‑decile operational performance by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and sustainable excellence.

Your Tasks And Responsibilities
  • Lead a high‑performing team using the VACC (Visionary, Architect, Coach, Catalyst) leadership style, setting target outcomes, prioritizing initiatives, and coaching talent to maximize organizational impact.
  • Shape employee development and career paths, build a diverse talent pool, recruit, hire, and onboard new staff as needed.
  • Establish, coach, and provide vision for the site’s Operational Excellence and Training functions, leveraging agile practices and fostering a collaborative, transparent culture.
  • Mentor teams to continuously improve by accelerating PSS initiatives and providing development experiences for talent.
  • Identify capability gaps and upskilling needs, then design, source, and deliver training programs that enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Support rapid learning cycles and build capabilities essential for delivering customer value.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional leaders to develop a comprehensive site strategy (space utilization, new technologies, facility layout, innovation integration, resilience) aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead cross‑functional collaboration on site KPIs, tools, and monthly reporting to monitor performance.
  • Develop and execute Operational Excellence, efficiencies, and continuous improvement strategies for all functions in line with the global PSS program.
  • Drive the transition to the next PSS phase through gap analysis and progression plans with pillar leaders.
  • Apply LEAN methodologies to achieve a zero‑loss mindset and coach leaders toward phase progression.
  • Identify digital tool needs, support development of digital applications, and ensure alignment with global data infrastructure standards.
  • Integrate PSS with Factory of the Future strategies (automation, smart manufacturing, digitalization, digitally enabled workforce).
  • Champion cost savings and strategic technology initiatives across manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, and quality functions.
  • Design, implement, and sustain learning initiatives that promote a digitally enabled mindset and future‑ready capabilities.
  • Ensure OE and Training processes remain compliant with cGMP, FDA and other regulatory standards, maintaining quality and safety excellence.
  • Collaborate with core operations, supply chain, quality, IT, and other departments to embed PSS principles into daily operations.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on key performance indicators to optimize operations and drive productivity.
Who You Are

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree with a minimum of 10 years (or 8 years with a master’s) of engineering, manufacturing, or operational excellence/LEAN experience in FDA‑regulated or pharmaceutical settings.
  • Deep, multifunctional experience in complex manufacturing management.
  • Proven track record in organizational transformation and change management.
  • Strong project management skills and deep experience in LEAN methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, data‑driven decision making.
  • Ability to inspire staff to embrace continuous learning and change.
  • Experience in training, learning & development or capability building.
  • In‑depth knowledge of digital technologies, tools and workplace trends.
  • Exceptional people leadership and team‑building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated purpose‑driven leadership, inclusion, authenticity and system awareness.
  • Strategic thinking and awareness of business‑level external trends.
  • Respects differences, embraces inclusion, and models authentic self.
  • Ability to allocate talent strategically to meet business needs.
  • Thorough understanding of GMP, OSHA, EPA and Bayer regulatory standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Green Belt and/or Black Belt.
Compensation & Benefits

Employees can expect a salary between $144,400.00 and $216,600.00. Additional compensation may include bonus or incentive programs. Benefits include health, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave and more.
