"We energize society" by supporting our customers to make the transition to a more sustainable world, based on innovative technologies and our ability to turn ideas into reality. With nearly 100,000 employees around the world, we shape the energy systems of today and tomorrow.

As an Operational Excellence Engineer focused on Logistics, you will partner with Logistics, Production, Planning, Warehouse, and Manufacturing Engineering to improve internal material flow. You will spend time on the shop floor analyzing material movement, identifying service gaps, and implementing practical process improvements. Using SAP and operational data, you will investigate material availability, inventory movements, shortages, and discrepancies between system records and physical flow. Your work will improve service levels to production and establish scalable logistics processes that support the factory’s continued growth.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Lead improvements to internal logistics processes, including material receiving, storage, replenishment, picking, kitting, staging, and line delivery.
  • Analyze material flow and identify shortages, bottlenecks, unnecessary handling, excessive travel, and other conditions affecting production performance.
  • Develop and implement scalable logistics solutions such as standard material routes, Kanban systems, supermarkets, point-of-use presentation, and replenishment methods.
  • Use SAP to track material availability, inventory movements, production requirements, shortages, and transaction history, connecting ERP information with physical material flow.
  • Establish and monitor logistics performance indicators, including material availability, on‑time delivery to production, picking accuracy, response time, and internal logistics productivity.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to implement and sustain improvements through standard work, visual controls, employee training, and structured problem solving.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field preferred; an associate degree with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing logistics, warehousing, material handling, supply chain, production support, or process improvement.
  • Hands‑on SAP ERP knowledge is required, including the ability to track inventory and material movements, review production requirements and material availability, investigate transaction history, identify system discrepancies, and extract data for operational analysis.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and internal logistics concepts such as standard work, 5S, visual management, Kanban, supermarkets, picking and kitting, value‑stream mapping, and structured problem solving.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work on the shop floor, coordinate cross‑functional improvements, and drive actions through implementation.

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer‑sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
