Hours : Full-Time, 1.0 FTE (on-site), Day Shift, Monday-Friday

Area : Operations Excellence

Locations : LUHS, Maywood, IL; includes occasional travel to Gottlieb Memorial Hospital and MacNeal Hospital.

About the Role : The Operations Excellence Consultant will provide strategic and hands-on leadership to drive performance improvement initiatives across Loyola Medicine, part of Trinity Health. This role supports stabilization, standardization, simplification, and sustainability of operational and clinical processes. The Consultant will lead and mentor staff at all levels, developing problem-solving skills to enhance patient care, meet regulatory standards, and improve operational metrics such as patient safety, quality, cycle time, rework, financial stewardship, and employee satisfaction. The role involves guiding leaders on process excellence strategies and fostering a culture of continuous improvement through training in Lean, Change Acceleration, Rapid Process Improvement, and Six Sigma methodologies.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and facilitate process improvement initiatives aligned with Trinity Health's strategic goals, focusing on patient safety, care quality, efficiency, rework reduction, financial stewardship, and staff engagement.
  • Serve as an internal consultant to Regional Hospital Managers (RHMs), providing expert guidance on Lean, Six Sigma, Change Acceleration Process (CAP), and Rapid Process Improvement methods.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to build problem-solving capabilities across all organizational levels.
  • Utilize data-driven approaches to identify performance gaps and recommend sustainable solutions.
  • Collaborate with leadership to prioritize improvement opportunities and measure success through key performance indicators.
  • Support organizational change management activities to ensure adoption and sustainability of process improvements.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in health administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience leading Lean transformation initiatives with proven results in process improvement and cultural change.
  • Strong knowledge of operations, financial analysis, and organizational development.
  • Experience in clinical improvement initiatives is highly desirable.
  • Lean Green Belt certification with advanced Lean training.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification required; must obtain within 1 year of hire.

Compensation : $90,896 - $140,920 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
