Job summary

JBT Marel in the United States is seeking a procurement coordinator to manage purchasing of goods and services including raw materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies. The role requires strong communication, interpersonal and team-building skills to support our manufacturing objectives.

You will review requisitions, negotiate contracts, analyze supplier performance and work with production teams to ensure on-time delivery and effective scheduling. Travel may be possible as needed.

• Ability to understand and effectively communicate in the English language.
• Be 18 years of age or older.
• Drug/alcohol screening required.

• Technical degree mentioned as preferred qualification.

Responsibilities

• Reviews requisitions.
• Confers with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
• Selects products for purchase that meet specification and quality standards.
• Communicates commodity cost information to other departments for internal pricing considerations.
• Determines method of procurement such as system contracts and blanket orders.
• Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
• Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
• Analyzes procurement records such as supplier on time performance and quality levels to ensure an adequate supplier base is present.
• Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, suppliers and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
• Supports and participates in a continuous improvement process relating to all aspects of procurement and supplier interface.
• Expedites delivery of goods to users.
• Works with Production Teams regarding proper schedules or reschedules.
• Coordinates outsourcing requirements with various Mangers of Production Teams.
• Ensure that Engineering Change Notices are properly implemented and that suppliers are notified timely.
• Prepares reports regarding such elements of performance such as supplier on time delivery performance, cost saving to goals or other data as required.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical/Environmental Requirements

• Manufacturing environment: may be exposed to loud noises, machinery with moving parts.
• Wearing proper personal protective equipment when in production areas (safety glasses & safety shoes)
• Potential for domestic or international travel.
• Bending, stooping, twist, turn, sitting for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting 20lbs occasionally.
