Position Title: Branch Manager (Laredo, TX)

Shift: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Salary : 75K-85K

Job Function:

A General manager in the 3PL industry needs to have an understanding of the whole supply chain so they can coordinate it effectively and liaise with customers, manufacturers, carriers and the shipping industry. A 3PL general manager must also be aware of external influences such as legislation, fuel costs and environmental pressures. They will always need to be considering how business development can fit with sustainability. This management position requires a capable multitasking leader able to analyze and direct the changing dynamics of a CY-CFS.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Formation of tactical sales & marketing strategies to support short, mid & long-term business growth

2. Identify and penetrate into new market segment or customers base

3. Ensure budgeted and planned sales target are reviewed and met

4. Responsible for rate & contracts negotiation, quotations for tenders, etc

5. Develop and implement marketing and service initiatives to manage and implement supply chain business building programs and initiatives with customers in support of company’s business growth

6. Manage the planning process and execute standardized procedures to ensure all daily operation activities are executed and met according to the customer service levels

7. Build a strong win-win customer relationship so as to ensure customer retention and development solution to growth existing business

8. Diligently review and improve business processes to improve productivity and add value to the Company

9. Manage the effective implementation and use of the appropriate technology in all sections of the service chain, to enhance service and improve productivity

10. Manage the allocation of appropriate resources and commitment of staff to the achievement of departmental goals & targets set

11. Ascertain industry/logistics best practices to identify new and/or unique programs to differentiate Customer from the marketplace and drive customer satisfaction.

12. Selects and hires employees. Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product. Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions.

13. Manage on-going partner relationships

14. Root cause analysis and problem resolution for all logistics operations

15. Serve as liaison with all internal and external partners for daily operational activities

16. Track, analyze and communicate key performance metrics

17. Responsible for all logistics operations and support across all industry channels.

18. Ensures coordination of facility and equipment repairs, safety maintenance of all operations through appropriate terminal personnel or outside vendor

19. Train new employees and counsel personnel with feedback, coaching and discipline as needed for improved job performance

20. Create and maintain a healthy team spirit with employees

21. Direct investigations into causes of vendor complaints and recommend solutions to correct them

22. Keep current on changes or new procedures within the Company

23. Conduct meetings with all employees to keep them up to date with pertinent changes within business industry we participate

24. Will work in all areas relative to the operation of the terminal and support the development of safety operations with transportation and warehouse managers

25. Manage day-to-day relationship with vendor on project matters; provide regular status reports and proactively offer solutions to ensure quality of service

26. Facilitate effective communication within the management team

27. Provide support to the management team in costing and planning projects and with some necessary customer presentations

28. Creates detailed Request for Quote (RFQ) package for suppliers/contractors to bid on. Evaluates proposals for the requested service/s in the form of side by side comparisons. Investigates and/or interviews potential suppliers/vendors in cooperation with department manager concerned to determine if they meet the specified requirements. Advises team members and/or management on the appropriate supplier to be used. Negotiates the lowest possible cost for the service balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.

29. Implements purchase contracts that comply with company’s vendor selection policy

30. Ensure completion of all project-driven operational processes

DESIRED EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree required (in business, transportation, logistics or related field preferred).

- Six to eight years related experience, including operations/stevedoring/vessel cargo operations or terminal operations.

- Six years supervisory experience (in business, transportation, logistics or related field)
