Job summary

Gen is seeking an Operational Audit Leader in Tempe, AZ to build and lead a risk-based internal audit function, providing independent assurance and business insights beyond SOX compliance. You will partner with business leaders to scope and execute end-to-end audits across functions.

Responsibilities include identifying risks, developing an annual plan, delivering actionable recommendations, adopting AI tools for audits, and driving adoption of improvements.

Qualifications

• Identify and assess operational, financial, compliance, IT, and strategic risks.
• Develop and execute a risk-based operational audit plan aligned with enterprise priorities.
• Lead end-to-end operational audits (risk assessment, scoping, fieldwork, reporting) across business functions.
• Deliver actionable insights and recommendations that improve business performance and risk management.
• Build and maintain audit methodologies, tools, and templates for operational audits.
• Drive stakeholder engagement and adoption of audit recommendations.
• Lead/partner special projects – transformation; M&A etc.
• Adopt AI tools and other automation for Internal audit function, including SOX processes.

About the Role:

The Operational Audit Leader will be responsible for building and leading a risk-based operational audit function that provides independent assurance and business insights beyond SOX compliance. This role will drive enterprise risk coverage and position Internal Audit as a trusted advisor.

Location: Tempe, AZ Office (Onsite 3 days per week)

The annual base salary for this position is expected to be between $225,000 and $250,000. Base salary is one component of Gen's total compensation package, which includes 401(k) match, health insurance options, disability coverage, life insurance, and unlimited paid time off. Actual salaries will vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies related to the role.
