Job summary

RGP is seeking an Operational Accountant to support critical accounting and financial operations across the organization from Cleveland, OH. You will bridge finance, operations and stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and strong internal controls.

The role focuses on month-end close, reconciliations, cash management, and process improvements, with a 50-70 USD/hour DOE compensation and the opportunity to contribute to system implementations and automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting in corporate, public, or consulting settings.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and close processes.
• Experience with GL accounting and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with timely, accurate reporting.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement variances and investigate discrepancies.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, fixed assets, and accruals.
• Assist with cash flow reporting, forecasting, and treasury-related activities.
• Partner with operations teams to ensure accurate transactions per policy.
• Support internal and external audits with documentation and responses.
• Maintain and improve accounting processes, workflows, and internal controls.
• Participate in system implementations and process automation initiatives.
• Develop financial and operational reports for leadership and key stakeholders.
• Assist with ad hoc analyses and special projects.
